What the Süper Lig is

The Süper Lig is the top division of Turkish football, contested by 18 clubs across the 2026/27 season. It is one of the loudest leagues in Europe to watch in person, known for passionate home support and a fixture list dominated at the top by three Istanbul clubs and Trabzonspor.

Trabzonspor, based on the Black Sea coast, has also challenged for the title in recent seasons and brings some of the most committed away support in the league.

Fixtures to know about

The season's early schedule already includes a heavyweight clash, with Trabzonspor hosting Galatasaray at Papara Park on Saturday 19 September. The same weekend sees Fenerbahçe welcome Eyupspor to Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium, and Besiktas travel to Diyarbakir to face Amed SFK.

By early October, Galatasaray host Kasimpasa at Rams Park, and Genclerbirligi face Amed SFK again at Eryaman Stadium in Ankara. Fixtures such as Çorum FK against Alanyaspor and Kocaelispor hosting Gaziantep FK round out the early weeks of the season across the country's smaller grounds.

Grounds across Türkiye

Istanbul is home to three of the Süper Lig's biggest clubs and their stadiums. Galatasaray play at Rams Park, which holds 52,280 and is one of the largest and loudest grounds in the division, while Besiktas' Vodafone Park holds 42,590 and sits close to the Bosphorus.

Away from Istanbul, grounds such as the Gaziantep Stadium and the Medas Konya Büyüksehir Stadyumu host some of the league's provincial clubs, and the Estadio Caykur Didi in Rize, home to Caykur Rizespor, is one of the more distinctive settings in Turkish football thanks to its coastal backdrop.

Choosing a fixture

Demand for Süper Lig tickets is highest for matches between Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Besiktas, and for any fixture involving Trabzonspor given the size of their travelling support. Games involving clubs such as Erzurum BB or Eyupspor are generally more accessible and offer a good way to experience Turkish football without the premium attached to the biggest derbies.
