What is Liga MX

Liga MX is Mexico's top football division, made up of 18 clubs competing across the 2026/27 season. The league runs on Mexican football's familiar short-season format, with a regular season feeding into a play-off stage known as the Liguilla, which ultimately decides the champion rather than final league position alone.
