The UEFA Nations League is a competition for European national teams, running alongside World Cup and European Championship qualifying to give countries competitive fixtures instead of one-off friendlies. Among the bigger footballing nations involved this season are England, France, Belgium, Croatia, Czechia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, each playing a set of league-phase fixtures against nations from their own division before the top group winners move into a knockout stage.
