Mexico City's Estadio Azteca is the only venue to have hosted two World Cup Finals (1970, 1986). For 2026 it hosts the tournament opener on 11 June (Mexico vs South Africa) plus three other group-stage matches and one knockout fixture.
The city sits at 2,240m altitude — visitors should plan to arrive 2–3 days before matchday to acclimatise. Avoid heavy exertion on day one.

- Don't drive: traffic around the Azteca is gridlocked 4+ hours around kickoff.
- From MEX (Benito Juárez airport): 40 min by Metrobús or 30 min by Uber in light traffic.
